Jublains, Gallo-Roman settlement

Travel back to Gallo-Roman times!

The archeological museum presents Mayenne at the time of the Gauls and the Gallo-Romans. In the ancient town of Jublains, archaeological study continues today, and forms the basis of the exhibition.

Videos, virtual reality animations and 3D models help you to understand the settlement of Noviodonum, while a number of exhibits invite you to delve deeper into the daily life of those who lived here 2000 years ago.

The temple, the theatre, the Roman baths and the fortress form a set of archaeological monuments which stimulate your imagination and give you a real feel for life in what was to become Jublains. A unique site in the west of France.

The Métiers d’Art craft forum is a privileged space with a professional crafts workshop, temporary exhibitions, an apprenticeship workshop and a boutique where you will find unique and original pieces made by local crafts men and women.

Logo Haute MayenneMayenne is part of the Coëvrons-Mayenne Art and History district, which brings together the General Council of the Mayenne, the surrounding communities and those around Coëvrons.
